FishingIn the Selous Game Reserve's great Rufiji River, graveyard to the 1st World War German battle cruiser Königsberg, is superb fishing for one of the world's greatest fighting fish - the tiger fish. Staying in the Sand Rivers Selous lodge you can search for game on foot or vehicle in the morning and then try your luck at fishing for tiger fish in the afternoon. Beware of hippos! Lake Victoria is home to the largest Nile perch in the world, some up to 300lbs. Rubondo Island Camp is on an

ChimpanzeesOn the shores of Lake Tanganyika, at the foot of the magnificent Mahale Mountains, is a romantic Ottoman style camp from where you set out into the forest to search for chimpanzees. The chimpanzees are comfortable with our presence and whilst at Mahale Camp you are virtually certain to spend time with mankind's fascinating cousins. This is one of the few places in the world where it is possible to watch chimpanzees in their natural habitat.

Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount MeruAt 19,340 ft Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest mountain as well as being the highest free standing mountain in the world. Although mountaineering skills are not required, making it to the summit is a great achievement and the view from the top of the world is unsurpassed. Depending on the route you take you should allow about 6 days for the climb and descent. The nearby Mount Meru is 14,980 ft, Africa's 5th highest, and can be climbed in about 3 days.
